While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to trend positively, our 2020 NCYBA season remains on hold.  The goal remains unchanged; we want to get back on the diamond as soon as possible.  Recently, Governor Cuomo announced his NY Forward plan which details the phased reopening process for the 10 regions of the state.  

 

Currently, the Capital Region does not meet all seven of the measurable criteria needed to enter phase 1 of the process.  It is likely the region will need to reach phase 4 of the Governor’s plan to begin playing the season.

 

The NCYBA Board will continue to monitor government directives and analyze different scenarios that will permit us to move forward.  With that in mind, we are proactively devising a modified set of rules to encourage proper social distancing for players, coaches, and fans without destroying the integrity of the game.  We want to be prepared to meet every town, county, and state required safety protocol when our region is given the green light.  As of now, we do not have an answer as to when we can begin.
